Paint and Drink

Image from http://www.canvasandcocktails.com/

Ever wanted to take a painting class, where you're not only accompanied by a talented instructor, but also a nice drink? This art studio exists in Denver, CO, and calls itself "Canvas and Cocktails." This is perfect for a fun night out with friends, where you get to take home a beautifully painted souvenir. If you're worried that you're not the "creative type" - please don't. This unique studio offers stress free classes taught by talented instructors, who know that you are there to have fun. Think of this as a trip back to your elementary school art classes, plus that great buzz!

Don't live in Denver? Pinot's Palette offers a similar opportunity, and there are multiple studios across the US.

Both Canvas and Cocktails and Pinot's Palette are available for private parties!

Lighting and Food

Have you ever been to a restaurant just before dusk, when the lights all of a sudden dim, and the atmosphere becomes a bit more intimate? All lighting has a valuable role in setting a desired mood. Warm, dim lights suggest romantic moods, in the way they soften edges and flatter our appearances.

Bright lights, when put to test by Cornell University's Food Lab, may actually cause a person to eat faster than usual because of the tense mood the lighting creates. (More info: http://foodpsychology.cornell.edu/outreach/fastfood.html).
